the Laughing Buddha

deep red wood.
He stretches his arms to the sky,
palms facing up.
His earlobes
flop fat on his shoulders.
His big, round
and bald head
are shiny and
He is caught in an eternal laugh.
He asks,
what else is there but joy?
the world answers,
an infinity of fear
of baggage and of reasons.
His smile winks.
He throws his head back.
Do you laugh with Him?
