Bruni, Frank. “The Lie About College Diversity — The New York Times.” The New York Times. N.p., 12 Dec. 2015. Web. 15 Nov. 2016.
This source speaks about how colleges may accept a diverse amount of students but then lack the discipline to encourage students to go out of their comfort zone. Therefore, I wanted this to be a source to support my interviews that are being made. Students mentioned things such as its all on you on how you want your experience to be, that’s why I want to use this source as a way to support their statements.
“Research Reveals the Benefits of Diversity for All Students.” Research Reveals the Benefits of Diversity for All Students. N.p., n.d. Web. 15 Nov. 2016.
Within this article, they speak about how a diverse community or university can help benefit everyone, not just the minorities. They have come up with studies that prove that the majority also is benefited. Therefore, I had wanted to use this as a resource to prove to other students that its worth it. That being involved within this diverse community isn’t just benefiting the minorities rather the majority too.
“Organizations Directory.” University of Minnesota. N.p., n.d. Web. 15 Nov. 2016.
This website consists of the different groups/organizations within the University of Minnesota. With this site, I want to use this to help explain to others that our University is diverse because of these groups and because of these people who involve themselves. Using this website as proof of the involvement of multiple organizations to help spread diversity.
Shmalz, Julia. “‘Ask Me’: What LGBTQ Students Want Their Professors to Know.” The Chronicle of Higher Education. N.p., 3 Sept. 2015. Web. 15 Nov. 2016.
Within this video, these students speak about what they want their professors or other to ask them. If they had a question assuming their gender or orientation, they should just ask instead of putting everyone including themselves in awkward positions. When I use this resource I want to use this as a way to explain our Universities journey in becoming better. We are becoming more diverse on our campus due to our campus doing pronouns with every class before doing names. Therefore, I wanted to use this as a source to prove that we are improving in terms of diversity in multiple ways.
