Hmong Cultural Traditions In My Life
I will still be doing my research about the life oh a Hmong Dude. As a young Hmong man born to the generation of both traditional and modern ways I’ve always wondered why we would see our relatives almost every weekend.
As I grew older I learned about the meaning of these blessings and other ceremonies that bring so many families together. This video made me feel that it is important to see my culture and it’s traditions are still thriving through this age of assimilation. I do not have much knowledge on this topic because there isn’t really much time to teach the younger generations these traditions due to our grandparent’s and parent’s reason of coming here. To start a new/successful life, primarily focusing on school and becoming finically stable. Learning the meaning of the Hu plig for the baby is interesting because I’m going to be attending my cousin’s baby’s ceremony this weekend. So it’s nice to understand the purpose of the events and love how this culture is still prominent in my life and will continue to be.
This is a video link below that explains what the meaning of the event is and what partakes throughout the event.
