Mixed colored contacts are the leading trend in the recent years.

When you look at the top ranked shopping malls, and twitters and pictures of various blogs, there are not many people that are wearing 1 color printed colored contacts. However, in fact, there are still a lot of people wearing 1 tone colored contacts such as dark brown and light brown color.

So, you might get a bit odd feeling when you see people wearing 2 or 3 colors mixed circle lenses. However, those who are wearing colored contacts that have a color mix well with their eye colors look natural and beautiful.

The coloring method of 2 tone or 3 tone colored contacts

There are two motives how color mixing method of colored contacts were started. One motive started from doll’s eyes whose edge part of eyes are darker to give a dolly effect. The other is that 2 toned eye color such as hazel eye color or hazel green color is the motive. These two are the big motives of how various color mixed colored contacts are made.

First motif : dolly effect.

The doll’s eyes are very large and the edge part is a bit dark(of course not all dolls are like this.) This is why colored contacts that make your eyes to be doll’s eyes are called dolly contacts. First, the dolly contacts need to have a dark edge. The dark edge is also known as limbal ring or dark outer. In the early 2000’s colored contacts with dolly effects were very popular. In Korea or Japan, they were known as the circle lenses. However, these kinds are not as popular in the modern days. But, in Japan, still dolly effect colored contacts are the most popular, and they are called as karacon 15mm(or decanun karacon,) and they are one of the must have items for women.

Second motif : Hazel eye color or hazel green eye color.

Among all human eye colors, two most wanted colors are hazel color and natural green color. Hazel color has a color that is a mixture of green and brown. This color matches well with brown hair, ashe grey hair, white skin tone, and light brown skin tone, and this eyd color is known as the noble’s eye color. In other words, the hazel eye color is the luxury eye color. Since the late 2000’s, colored contacts manufacturers are trying to make hazel eye colored contacts.The center part of lens has a light brown or green color, and the edge part has a dot design. These kinds of hazel contacts turn the eye colors of dark brown or light brown into the original hazel eye color. Dark brown eyed people will see themselves as if their eye color is originally hazel.
