Beryllium Copper C17200, often known as Alloy 25, is the most widely used beryllium copper alloy and is notable for having the highest strength and hardness among commercial copper alloys. Its strength and hardness are equivalent to those of steel. In its peak-aged state, C17200 copper exhibits ultimate tensile and Rockwell hardness values of 200 ksi and RC 45, respectively.

Beryllium copper C17200 — Alloy 25, often known as spring copper or beryllium bronze, is one of the strongest copper-based alloys currently available. The quantity of beryllium in commercial-grade copper ranges from 0.4 to 2.0 percent. The low beryllium-to-copper ratio produces a family of high-copper alloys with strength comparable to alloy steel. The first two families, C17200 and C17300, have high strength but moderate conductivity, whereas the second family, C17500 and C17510, has both high conductivity and moderate strength. These alloys’ main properties include strong thermal conductivity, resistance to stress relaxation, and high reactivity to precipitation-hardening processes.
