Professionals vs Amateurs
Srinivas Rao

Don’t you think that there are too many amateurs in the world, too many people who are trying to be creative and express themselves, while lacking real talents or self-discipline to develop those talents? Don’t you think creativity is often overemphasized?

For a creative person (an amateur), it is easy to live in a state of perpetual self-delusion, assuming that their product worth something, even if it is far from being true. But in business or in sport, our failures are immediate and obvious. We can use this feedback to improve, if we are willing to do. Perhaps, some “creative individuals” dislike competition of business and sport because they know that they won’t stand it.
