Meeting with HR Professional
On 31 August 2018, I had a very pleasant meeting with HR of Bulleh Shah Packaging Pvt. Ltd. The purpose of this meeting is to explore mentality of recruiter and to prepare ourselves according to it. A asked him a few questions and he answered in an encouraging manner. The environment was so learning and comfortable that our meeting of fifteen minutes exceeded to half an hour. I asked him about an ideal resume’s length and he said, there is no specific length but it shouldn’t be long and tiring, it should be precise and professional. Similarly, when I asked about whether CGPA would matters a lot or skills he smiled and said, I like your this question and continue on saying that recruiters will definitely prefer a candidate with average CGPA along with good technical skills then he explained why he would prefer average CGPA rather than low or high. Then I asked him about nonverbal communication and he said it matters a lot even more than verbal he specifically mentioned that it shows your confidence. Later our discussion went on towards length of an interview and his answered amazed me when he said an average interview can never be more than 15–20 minutes and if it goes long than its recruiter’s mistake not the candidate. How do you think it is important to be real in an interview? When I asked this question how do you think it is important to be real in an interview? He not only replied but also explain some parameters related to this like, culture of the company, skills, job fit and my last question was what his suggestions for candidates are. He said Resume is most important and communication. These are the most important ingredients for a job, after that I thanked him for his time and he wished me for my future.
