It’s only fair to say that the murder of Barbara Chapman in 1984 Ontario is lost in time: the investigation into her case seems to have kept many facts disclosed, for not a lot is published about it. What happened to the 38-year-old mother of two?

There Was Nothing Unusual in Her Routine That Day

January 23, 1984 was a normal day for 38-year-old Barbara Elaine Chapman and her two young children. They lived in the small village of Frankford, Ontario right at Trent River and about a 110 miles east of Toronto.

Barbara woke up early to make breakfast for the children, but also helped them prepare for school that was starting soon.

Afterwards, she brought them outside to await the school bus. As the children mounted the bus, it was the last time that they would see their mother alive.

While the two had their classes, Barbara spent her time alone on the phone with her own mother. They chatted for a bit while she finished a couple of chores around the home.

Whatever happened to her after the call remains a mystery still in need to be solved. The only thing that’s known is the result: and it came unexpected.

A Terrible Discovery
