A World Filled With Beauty

The Crystal Cave Kobelwald in canton St. Gallen, Switzerland, is declared one of the prettiest caves in the country. Fairly, the dark and mysterious caves are filled with all kinds of shining crystals. The surroundings are tranquil as well: nature fills the wide landscape with a few foresty hills.

Who would think that such a place filled with beauty could become the object of fear, violence, and murder? Exactly this is the fate that fell upon the remote Crystal Caves in 1982.

Before the story at the crystal cave can start, however, we have to take a look at Goldach, a municipality with almost eight thousand people making the community in 1980. Situated right at Lake Constance in the canton of St. Gallen, there are not a lot of big news, except for a few accidents, but that’s all.
