A fan of the performing arts, 10-year-old Beverly Potts was all excited to watch a show in her hometown on an August evening in 1951. However, afterwards, she never returned back home. Was she abducted? And could letters sent to a newspaper in 2000 be the clue in solving her disappearance?

Beverly Would Never Trust a Stranger

Ever since her birth on April 15, 1941 Beverly Rose Potts lived in Cleveland, Ohio with her parents Robert and Elizabeth, as well as her 22-year-old sister Anita.

They described Beverly as a shy personality who was rather quiet and always obedient. The family life was stable and happy, and by 1951, she was a fourth-grader at Louis Agassiz Elementary School.

Already as a young girl, Beverly was taught not to trust strangers, so she was especially careful not to trust people, especially men, she didn’t know. Due to that, it was even more shocking to believe that she was abducted on the late evening of August 24, 1951.
