Even 13 years after Marta Del Castillo went missing and was presumably murdered, her family still don’t give up in finding the truth. The 17-year-old’s murder involves various versions of one tale, implications against other alleged conspirators, and the desperate search to find Marta’s body, which is still lost somewhere, even though the several confessions claim to give an explanation as to where she was left. In the hope to finally bring their daughter back home and give her a proper burial, Marta’s parents give everything to keep her case in people’s minds.

A Day Like Any Other… Becoming the Turning Point for a Family

On January 24, 2009, the 17-year-old Marta Del Castillo Casanueva was seen alive for the last time. She left her home on Argantonio Street in Seville, Spain to meet some friends in the afternoon.

Among them was a 19-year-old with the name Miguel Carcaño Delgado. When Marta didn’t come back home by 9PM and her mother Eva Casanueva tried to call her several times without any response, she called him, and was told that he already dropped off Marta near her home at about 9:30PM.

But that story would change many more times in the months and years ahead.
