A Rural and Safe Town

The Picards lived on their rural farm in Goas Al Ludu, Brittany, France. The community was pretty set-back, there was not a lot going on, so the family lived a fairly comfortable life with their nine children.

Pauline was one of these children. In 1922, she was two years old and grew up around farming tasks while discovering the world she was born into.

Pauline Picard Never Returned From Playing Outside

On a quiet April day, she did just the same. She was all alone outside with her siblings, something that didn’t worry the parents — it was a different time, there wasn’t a lot going on in the area, it was impossible that something bad could happen.

But exactly this happened. When the children were called in for dinner, their mother had to realize that Pauline wasn’t among them. She never came back
