Who Was Cherilyn Hawkley?

Cherilyn Hawkley was born on March 19, 1954. In 1993, when she was 39 years old, her life was in the midst of a change.

She divorced that year, moved to Roseville in California, and started working as a fifth-grade teacher at Eureka Elementary School in Granite Bay.

Cherilyn had two daughters and a son from her 15-year-long marriage. After the divorce, the children stayed with their father in Chico.

Based on what her students and family said, Cherilyn was a good and beloved teacher who enjoyed teaching very much.

Her daughter Heather later told ABC10 that Cherilyn was “the best mom ever.”
