If you are struggling with employee engagement in your company, you are not alone. Studies have shown that 87% of the employees across the globe are not engaged. And this number matters because the same study has also pointed out that the organizations with a more engaged workforce outperform the others by a whopping 147% in earnings per share. The good news is that employee engagement is seeing a gradually rising trend.

Millennial share in the workforce has recently increased dramatically and is expected to take up a share of 3/4th within the next decade which calls for a shift in the employee engagement trends. Businesses will now have to carefully customize their employee strategies to this section. Millennials are more inclined towards open communication, a good work culture, integrating with companies’ cause work and having a purpose.

The leadership role would shift towards being more compassionate. A higher level of engagement would happen if employees work for a leader who is authentic, dignified and leads with integrity and empathy. The culture has switched from the term “work/life balance” to “work-life blend.” The top companies are accepting flexibility and the others will follow the fashion.

Lastly, about the technology and people analytics: Since businesses are adopting the development and coaching model that embraces the growth, goal setting, tracking system, and people management has also changed. Using software, managers can better understand what the employees need and how they can perform optimally.
