Beginners Guide to Vaping
Part (2): What’s new?

First, please read my beginners guide part (1) here, if you are not a local you can ignore Egypt’s specific details (stores, locations, arabic words in english letters, etc.) and you’ll be fine. Now since there are new products that came out recently in the vaping market, I felt it’s about time to write an update! Beware this guide is for those of you who want to quit smoking, and willing to throw away their pack of cigarettes, or for those of you who already switched to vaping, and looking for an upgrade. I do not intend to write a review of these new products, rather I’m sharing my experience to provide you with a short list of the vaping essentials, which will make your vaping pleasant, and save you from going through the tedious process of what should you pick and buy. So let’s jump into it!
What’s new out there & what can be good for you?
1- Tank
I’ll start with the tank this time, there is a new version of the Nautilus called Aspire Nautilus 2, it looks much nicer in design than the old one in my earlier guide, and much easier to fill with e-juice. The only disadvantage is, it comes in 2ml size only. You can check it out here. This tank uses the same ready-made coils of its predecessor, and as usual, you’ll need to change the tank’s coil depending on your consumption, as explained in part (1). The coil that you should use is the BVC 1.6ohm or 1.8ohm, see here. The tank comes with a 0.7ohm pre-installed coil, and a seperate 1.8ohm coil, you should use the 1.8ohm (not the 0.7ohm) to give you the same feeling as the cigarette at 8–11 watt.

Another tank that surfaced recently is the ARES RTA, made by Innokin and designed by Phil Busardo and Dimitris Agrafiotis, check it out here. I can claim that this is the number one mouth to lung tank in the market. Its beautiful design, easy top fill, and flavor production is nowhere near any other tank I ever tried. It comes in 5ml size, which makes it extremely practical throughout the day. You need to rebuild the coil yourself, it’s a straightforward process. The website has step-by-step tutorials on how to make your coil, use and maintain the tank. The kit comes with all the tools you need in order to build your coils. Thumbs up Phil & Dimitris for a fantastic MTL tank! You may want to buy the coil master kit at somepoint when you are used to build your coils. You also need organic cotton bacon prime and the Kanthal A1 wires. These are very cheap and easy to find at any vape store in Cairo or around the world. For the wires, I highly recommend a 26ga thickness and 12 raps on 3.5m to give you a coil of approx. 1.5ohm resistance fired at 10–11 watt. This shall take you to the sweet spot and yield an unmatched flavor production for a mouth to lung vapor.

2- Mod
If you are pursuing a light weight mod with just one battery, a great and easy to carry around mod is the Wismec Sinuous P80, see here. If you prefer a mod with two batteries, so it can last longer throughout the day, a good one is Vaporesso Revenger X 220W, see here. Some mods are being sold with or without the tank, try to get it without the tank since you’ll get the Nautilus 2 or ARES as described above. The tank that comes with the mod is not for cigarette smokers (produce insane vapor clouds) and you won’t need them. If you couldn’t find the mod alone, then it’s fine, the tank is detachable and you can replace it easily with the Nautilus 2 or the ARES.
3- E-liquid/Juice
It all depends on your preferences when it comes to a) flavor and b) nicotine level (0mg, 3mg, or 6mg). It’s a huge industry now in the US and the UK, zillions products are available on the market. You’ll need to try different flavors and brands at the beginning until you decide what’s best for you. I always recommend to buy the imported (premium) e-juice, my favorites are Naked (24 different flavors) and Cosmic Fog (10 different flavors).
4- Batteries
These of course are sold separately, you’ll just need to buy one (or two batteries) depending on the mod you choose. Batteries are rechargeable through the mod itself via USB cable, but I advise you to use a separate charger to increase the lifetime of the battery. The battery MUST be 18650 Battery (3000mAh), other specs won’t probably work with any of the abovementioned mods. Best ones are AWT, Aspire, Sony, LG, Samsung in this order. Just please handle with care and don’t ever use the battery if any of its edges are spoiled. Also, do NOT put it in your pocket or store it with other metal items like coins, etc. this is no brainer but I have to mention it just in case!
In a nutshell, this can be your shopping list:
Tank: AspireNautilus 2 or ARES
Coils: Aspire Nautilus BVC coils (each sheet has 5 coils) for the Nautilus 2. As for the ARES you can begin with the kit that comes with the tank to build your own coils.
Mod: Wismec Sinuous P80 (one battery) or Vaporesso Revenger X 220W (two batteries).
Battery: Must be 18650 Battery (3000mAh), preferences are to buy AWT, or Aspire, Sony, LG, Samsung.
E-liquid/Juice: Your choice of flavor.
Where to buy?
You can buy everything from any vape store in Cairo, or from online sites abroad like VaporDNA or Direct Vapor.
