Love Story

I gave you the most complicated version

Unpretentious version

Locked up with zipper chains

loosen by steel blaze

Of those raveled moments, I was reminded

Later the unfulfilled, unsatisfying, unquenchable

In not loving,

In not expecting,

In settling.

Lucidity eludes as we were excavated

For the remaining love. Until

Left with a decaying frame.

Left to search for soul to stay grounded.

But tainted,

with the acquainted,

under a layer of pain.
