I should have kept track of how many people mentioned having real-time dashboards in 2014–2015. Then, the frequency of how many of them would say they aren’t sure how the dashboards benefited them later on.
*Full disclosure: I’m naturally biased. I really wish I was a bigger fan of trendy tools. But, see, I came from a team that tracked minute-by-minute (day-to-day, and any period) performance using good ‘ole static Excel. And, we were measured by how actionable and predictive our recommendations were. With analyses coming from our brains and Excel.
