My own..

Growing up, my mother had many best friends, or at least a deep connection with a lot of women that transcended time and their different situations. One of those women was Anty Adama, they had been friends since secondary school, called each other sister (even though this was a practice for the girls that went to Queen Elizabeth school in Ilorin) in fact, when my mother passed on, she was coming from a trip with Anty Adama.. they had made that sister title permanent and now, I’m cousins with her children, our families are related. Clown school…

Many years ago, while having a conversation with a big sister friend, she told me about how one of her cousins had gone to “clown school” in South Africa and how his parents were very displeased. They couldn’t imagine their son being a clown as a career. I’m sure, this is relatable with many parents. However that’s not what we’re on about today. .

Not the “creative begging” of being lost and needing extra cash for transport but good old begging. …

Full bloom. Growing up I’ve had so many interests, I still do but I think it’s leading me to this point. I have always been fascinated by pictures, capturing what my eyes are seeing, movements and sharing them, documenting them. I was raised rural, raised in a village and I’ve been searching for it and it’s fast disappearing and I’m trying to hold on to it. I love my village, I have grown to value it and as the years go by I seem to sink deeper into it. I’m fascinated by culture, how it guides us now, we are…
