Over time, Bundesliga has become one of the Big Five in European football, along with Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and Ligue 1. There are plenty of managers who have been in charge of Bundesliga clubs and four of them are standing out with the most impressive achievements (most titles).

4. Hennes Weisweiler (4 titles)

Hennes Weisweiler is the first name we would like to mention on this list. This German football manager was the midfielder of Bundesliga club 1.FC Köln and became the coach of two Bundesliga clubs, including the 1.FC Köln and Borussia Mönchengladbach during the 1970s.

He also obtained four Bundesliga titles with these two clubs. He was one of the few managers who achieved Bundesliga titles without managing the top-notch club Bayern Munich but other less well-known clubs instead.

With an impressive way of training football players and gaining certain major titles, he was chosen as one of the trainers for the German Sports Academy in Cologne. To honor his influence in German football, a training center for coaches in this academy was named after him.

Jupp Heynckes is one of the best managers in the history of the Bundesliga. He also achieved four Bundesliga shields during his time working in this tournament. Jupp had a short time as a Serie A manager in Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid in the early 1990s.

In total, he managed 668 Bundesliga games in five different clubs. However, all four Bundesliga titles all belonged to Bayern Munchen. He was also elected as the German Football Manager of the Year twice in 2013 and 2018.

2. Ottmar Hitzfeld (7 titles)

Although Ottmar Hitzfeld has retired, he is always remembered as one of the most renowned coaches in the history of the Bundesliga. He had 14 seasons with this top-flight German competition but only managed two clubs, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

In his seven titles, five belonged to Bayern Munich and two consecutive titles are what Ottmar and Dortmund achieved in the 1994–95 and 1995–96 seasons. Ottmar even got two Champions League titles with these two clubs. He was recognized as the Football Manager of the Year or Coach of the Season many times in his managerial career.

1. Udo Lattek (8 titles)

Udo Lattek is considered the most successful manager in the Bundesliga of all time, as well as one of the greatest football coaches in German football. He won a total of eight Bundesliga titles, most belonging to Bayern Munich although he used to be the manager of many other Bundesliga clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, 1. FC Köln, and Schalke 04.

Lattek was also the football manager who coached some of the best German players we know today, like Lothar Matthaus, Dieter Hoenes, Klaus Augenthaler, or Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, or Jean-Marie Pfaff. Some of them have already become football managers now.
