While it can be served either hot or cold, the Hot Toddy is the most popular of the two. By definition, a toddy is a drink with a distilled spirit, sweetener, and water. While the original Hot Toddy portrays that entirely, there are also other possibilities for the creatively inclined. These easy to follow steps will show you how to make a classic Hot Toddy using Bourbon as our spirit of choice due to its sweet and subtle taste. Before you know it, you will be cozying up on the couch enjoying a warm Hot Toddy!

You Will Need:

· Kettle

· Sharp kitchen knife & cutting board

· Small bowl

· Lemon squeezer

· Measuring spoons & measuring cups

· 10–12oz mug

· Small spoon to stir

Ingredients:

· 2oz of Bourbon whiskey

· 1 tablespoon honey

· 1 teaspoon lemon juice

· 8oz boiling hot water

· 1 lemon

Step 1: Heat Up Some Water

Fill your kettle with at least 8oz of fresh water and set to boil

Step 2: Prepare Lemon Wedges

Take your lemon and kitchen knife over to your cutting board and slice the lemon in half while waiting for the water to boil. Then proceed to slice the halves into half.

Step 3: Gather Receptacle For Lemon Juice

Place your small bowl on a hard sturdy surface, such as the kitchen counter or inside the kitchen sink.

Step 4: Make Some Lemon Juice

Hover your lemon squeezer directly above the small bowl and then extract lemon juice from two of the lemon wedges.

Step 5: Start To Compile Our Cocktail

Divvy out a 1 teaspoon of lemon juice from the cup using a measuring spoon and then pour into the 10–12oz mug.

Step 6: Add Bourbon

Measure 2oz of Bourbon with a measuring cup and pour into the mug.

Step 7: Add Honey

Pour the honey into a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon and then put contents of the tablespoon into your mug.

Step 8: Add Hot Water

Fill your mug with hot water once it is done boiling. Fill to top if using a 10oz mug, or leave a half-inch gap at the top if using a 12oz mug.

Stir all contents inside the mug using the small spoon.

Step 10: Make It Pretty
