I hope whoever is reading this blog has already watched the 5 Star’s ad for Valentine’s Day. If not, you can click here to watch it. 5 Star is one of the best brands that has come up with innovative, creative marketing campaigns, just like this one.

The campaign is named #EraseValentine’sDay, the ad shows how one could skip the entire day of February 14th by skipping to different time zones. However, not all of us might have the chance to do that. Here are two great ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day in an un-cringeworthy way.

P.S.: I personally don’t think that Valentine’s Day is a cringe concept. It just happens to be a day when people acknowledge their love for each other, try to escape from the daily mundane, and take time to show the ones they love that they love them, it is just the shove-on-the-face kinda of act that some marketing campaign brought across made Valentine’s Day quite cringe and a day of FOMO for single people. But for all the single people reading this, just like me ;), get your gear, and let’s get started.

Let’s dive deeper!

  1. Spread Smiles, gift your time, fill your heart, and create a forever cherished memory!

“Giving gifts is a heartwarming act that brings joy, fills our hearts, and makes us smile. The act becomes even more special when the person receiving the gift happens to be in need of it. Gifting someone what they were in need of makes the act even more special. And when we receive gifts we always wanted or were in need of, it makes us look at the person who sent us that gift like an angel sent from heaven. So, this Valentine’s Day, gift someone something they need, it doesn’t have to be materialistic, you can gift them your time, help them out, make an impact, and remember, why should gifting always cost money?

If you haven’t quite figured out how to celebrate this Valentine’s Day in an un-cringey way, the answer is VOLUNTEERING. Look for volunteering opportunities in your surrounding areas, cities, towns, or states.

Volunteering and making an impact on people’s lives fills your heart and, when you know that you’ve made an impact in someone’s life, that activity or day stays as a forever cherished memory.

Do you know what’s even better? Volunteer together if you’re a couple. This opportunity might give you a chance to understand your partner better and see the most candid version of them.

If you are unable to find any organizations that are currently looking for volunteers, you can take it upon yourself to spread some kindness. You can buy a bunch of roses and distribute them to street vendors or your municipal and sanitation workers. You can also offer them a bottle of water or juice to help them get through the day under the brutally scorching sun. Additionally, you can buy masks, hand gloves for sanitation workers and street sweepers just a little bit better, or anything that you think would make the lives of these people a little bearable and better.

Nonetheless, making an impact on someone’s life, spreading joy, spreading smiles, gifting your time, and making memories might be some of the best un-cringey ways to celebrate this Valentine’s Day.

2. Show the ones who LOVE you UNCONDITIONALLY forever that you LOVE them too!

We have all heard about the concept of self-love and that we should prioritize ourselves, but what about the people who have loved us more than themselves and with no conditions and sacrificed their own needs for us? it could be anyone whose name rings a bell for you when you hear these qualities, it could be your parents, your friends, your colleagues, your siblings, your furry friends (your pets).

It’s important to acknowledge and appreciate their love by expressing our gratitude through actions such as writing them a heartfelt message, cooking them a meal, booking them a full body medical check-up, taking them for a long walk, or simply spending quality time with them, the least you could try and so is put your phone away and spend some quality time with them.

The people who loved us unconditionally and put our needs before theirs would never have thought of their actions as cringe-worthy. So, why should we feel embarrassed or ashamed to do the same for them? It’s simply our responsibility to repay their kindness and love.

So which one of the above two are you gonna choose to celebrate this Valentine’s Day?

Let me know in the comment what are some of the Un-cringe ways that you’ll be celebrating this Valentine’s Day :)
