As the popularity of metaverse gaming grows across the world, Southeast Asia’s leading platform, Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia, also known as YGG SEA, has announced that it has set up shop in its 4th country — Vietnam. After successful launches in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, a Vietnamese team has been founded by Minh Loi Hang to bring the play-to-earn (P2E) guild to the western shores of the South China Sea.”
This new venture is part of YGG SEA’s goal of creating the most extensive and sustainable P2E virtual economy focused on Southeast Asia. By acquiring and managing the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) used in the metaverse, this decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) is a guild for the people and by the people. YGG SEA participates in 30+ games, including actively managing popular titles Axie Infinity, Starsharks, Wasted Lands, and Wonderhero. YGG SEA will also introduce new titles Dracoo Master, Tap Fantasy, and Fancy Birds in the coming weeks.
More than 166,000 badgeholders have joined YGG SEA’s community since its initial launch in November 2021. This includes more than 4400 scholars, who have shared in nearly 70% of the revenue to date. It is because of this mindset of giving others a chance that YGG SEA is beginning local operations in Vietnam. The P2E system is geared towards providing opportunities for all involved parties, from developers to players. By having a homegrown co-founder like Minh — a successful Vietnamese entrepreneur who was the driving force behind Insurtech, a real estate tokenization platform, and live streaming technology development — the people of Vietnam, and the YGG SEA community as a whole, benefits from locally developed and controlled content. These benefits become a reinvestment engine in Vietnam’s local communities, as well as across Southeast Asia.
Given that this is the 4th office opened since YGG SEA launched in November 2021, and recognizing the rapid expansion and growth potential of the P2E space, you can be certain that YGG SEA will also be ‘minting’ new offices elsewhere in the region in the very near future.
