Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia, also known as YGG SEA, is the first subDAO within the Yield Guild Games ecosystem. YGG SEA is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) for acquiring and managing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) used in the metaverse, with a mission to create the biggest and most sustainable play-to-earn (P2E) virtual economy focused on Southeast Asia. There are more than 700 million people here in Southeast Asia ready to be onboarded to the metaverse.
Having the advantage of moving to this space first and a partnership with a known and trusted brand, YGG SEA’s mandate is to invest locally and grow locally within the Southeast Asian community. YGG SEA aims to build on and localize the amazing work by YGG in existing big P2E markets like the Philippines as they tackle the subsequent Southeast Asian markets through bringing localized operations to better serve the Southeast Asian community.
In the face of rising NFT costs, YGG SEA provides guild members with high-quality in-game NFT assets and has removed the high upfront costs of entering P2E games. In exchange for their in-game efforts, all YGG guild members can receive an industry leading 70% of their bounty. Within developing countries, the amount of in-game earnings could surpass the wages of some industries. Earlier this year, some Filipino players were earning above their local monthly minimum wage from the P2E game Axie Infinity. Based on current SLP pricing, this potential for supplementary income can be a life line in emerging economies.
As a SubDAO, YGG SEA is a specialized, localized economy that forms part of the larger YGG economy. The power of a DAO is the ability for the community to grow their stake in the DAO over time, giving members the chance to run an organization within an organization. While the YGG SEA subDAO is in full control of its own operations in terms of engaging with games and acquiring NFTs to suit the local community, they are still an active contributor to YGG and actively participates in the YGG community.
