Breaking down the visions and competitive edges detailed in the YGG SEA Whitepaper
Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia, also known as YGG SEA, aims to create the most extensive and sustainable play-to-earn (P2E) virtual economy focused on Southeast Asia. We are a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) for acquiring and managing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) used in the metaverse. We aim to be a guild for the people and by the people.
To further elucidate how the YGG SEA and token sale will work, we have written a whitepaper that details our vision. In this article, we will walk you through 3 core concepts that give our community a better understanding of our goals and competitive edges.
Invest Locally and Grow Locally
YGG SEA is a subDAO that has the mandate to take the success of the YGG model in the Philippines to Southeast Asia, a geographical area with vast potential. Our way to achieve this is to invest locally and grow locally within the Southeast Asian community. YGG SEA has a dedicated team in place, including executives, country managers, and community teams, who have experience in each of the key markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore. While YGG SEA will leverage much of the work done by YGG, YGG SEA will enforce localization to further the growth of the play-to-earn scholarship model in 3 ways.
Localizing gaming communities: YGG SEA invests a great deal of time and effort in localizing gaming communities. This will include supporting multiple languages and multiple esports teams to ensure that there is adequate representation from all members of the YGG SEA community.
Localizing operations: Effective localize operations can expedite growth. YGG SEA focuses on delivering local operations excellence such as country-specific user acquisition and retention tactics and growing the YGG SEA presence through local partnerships.
Localizing social impact efforts: YGG SEA intends to fully leverage local expertise and networks to most effectively address the needs and expectations of the player base, with consideration that regulations and challenges of each country differ substantially. Grassroots community programs and financial literacy programs are some of the planned activities by YGG SEA to help us fully leverage the potential benefits play-to-earn can bring to our player community.
Symbiotic relationship with YGG
Our symbiotic relationship with YGG as a subDAO is one of our key competitive edges detailed in our Whitepaper. With YGG SEA being able to form stronger local partnerships, and user acquisition and retention strategies, YGG SEA will contribute to the whole YGG ecosystem as our presence grows. Such a growing presence will place both YGG and YGG SEA in a stronger position in negotiation, whether with upcoming play-to-earn games in optimizing asset allocation and rewards for our scholars, on- and off-ramps support to help users convert crypto to fiat more efficiently, or even greater regulatory representation.
YGG SEA Reward Programs
The participation and support of our community are crucial in our expansion. We have detailed how we are going to incentivize community participation with a specially designed reward structure.
First of all, those who act early will be eligible for special Legendary buffs that will only be in available to obtain after the SEA token launch on Copper. Legendary buffs will have long-term value for the owner by giving them access to the full range of games that YGG SEA partners with as long as they maintain their status.
Our long-term reward structure of YGG SEA is divided into community rewards and liquidity rewards. This dual reward structure allows us to incentivize greater community participation and at the same time to reward liquidity providers.
We have reserved 25% of SEA tokens for Community rewards, which will be a driver of guild growth. We will reward users to join the YGG SEA guilds, and also guilds for onboarding new members. Apart from onboarding, we will reward upskilling players who are deepening their engagement with YGG SEA, such as taking part in gaming tournaments. To broaden our exposure to the ever-growing play-to-earn landscape, we will incentivize the YGG SEA players to try new games by offering rewards for early participants. Lastly, participation in the DAO will also be encouraged, through activities like bounty programs and rewards schemes for active participation in the DAO.
10% of the total YGG SEA token allocation will be reserved for liquidity rewards, incentivizing our community to yield-farm within our ecosystem. The YGG SEA team has specifically formulated the following range of rewards to ensure contributors at all levels will receive benefits from participating in the launch. We are offering rewards for both users participating in single-sided staking and users providing liquidity on Uniswap. A YGG SEA staking interface will be created for users to claim the rewards. Regardless of whether users choose single-sided staking or staking Uniswap LP tokens, the YGG SEA staking interface allows users to stake the tokens via either a flexible or locked option.
Apart from earning staking rewards in native YGG SEA tokens, the team has secured additional benefits from their play-to-earn gaming partners. It means that when you stake SEA tokens, users will not just earn SEA tokens, users will earn a basket of play-to-earn tokens, diversifying the rewards our community can enjoy, and maximizing our users’ exposure in the play-to-earn space.
