Delving to Oneself’s Appreciation
As an adolescent, it is hard having a lot of on-going crisis, challenges and problems that are ought to be faced. With these, we tend to be down and blue that will turn into depression if it gets to the wrong lane. To avoid going to the path of doom, we must first love ourselves and here are some ways to do so.
- Focus on yourself. Attend to the needs of your body. Let yourself be the center of your attention.Do what your body wants to do and make sure you comply to it

2. Drop toxic people. This includes your so-called friends, foes, and any other people that doesn’t give you the support, love and care a person must have coming from the people they care about the most. Instead, surround yourself with supportive people who would be there for you through thick or thin, for better or for worse.

3. Be mindful of your inner voice. Always remember that we have this “gut feeling” and they speak on how you are going to solve a problem based on your knowledge and capabilities. No one knows you best except yourself.

4. Take care of your body. Our physical selves reflects on how we treat and love our body. Eating right, doing exercises and avoiding harmful substances such as drugs and alcohol is a must not only to be physically healthy but also emotionally healthy.

5. Build positive affirmations. “I CAN DO THIS” “I BELIEVE IN MYSELF” is just some of the repetitive mantra you should do everyday. Positive energy attracts positive outcomes. Aside from that, when you start saying positive things, it keeps the feeling of woe away. You can also write anything that has happened good everyday and put them in a jar because being positive somehow lightens the load of heavy burden.

6. Thank yourself. Be thankful that you studied hard for the quiz gaining yourself an A+. Be thankful that despite of the hardships, you are still able to stand up. Be thankful that you are yourself’s somebody to lean on.Go and pat yourself. You deserve it.

7. Remove negative comparisons. This is unavoidable especially with people who has high expectations towards you. They think that the comparisons serve as a motivator in order to improve your skill but it makes you feel down or even belittled by them. Try to forget those comparisons and do #1. The comparisons won’t do anything good for you.

Loving yourself is easy only when you are ready to accept and embrace your whole being. Loving yourself = happiness. You will be satisfied because you know who you are and you love it.
