Well, reality is that in windows world the first thing you need to do after buying a laptop is to completely reinstall stock operating system to clean one. In low-to-middle price range it often increases running speed by 20–30% because of vendors installing different things that have no reason to be installed.

Also, if you’re installing Linux, you would also remove your stock Windows, it doesn’t matter. Therefore it’s a good idea to just ignore software part when selecting windows laptop. (Although it is very frustrating).
