Any moderate physical activity makes our body and mind healthy. It is important for us to move in order to provoke the metabolism in the body. No less important is rest for the assimilation and digestion of accumulated energy. The practice of yoga is the perfect combination of physical activity and mental relaxation. Meditation, as part of yoga practice, allows us to better hear our body and understand its processes. But yoga is not only asanas and meditation. It is also purification and cleansing.

In the practice of yoga, cleansing procedures called “kriyas” are of great importance. Cleansing the eye glands, respiratory channels, stomach, intestines allow us to move to a new level of practice. When the body is clean, it is more elastic.

Shank Prakshalana is an ancient practice that allows you to completely cleanse the gastrointestinal tract. This is a unique practice that should be done by anyone who practices yoga at least once a year (or more often depending on the type of body constitution).

How is Shank Prakshalana made?

To understand the process, I recommend for the first time to join my online class “Shank Prakshalana” and go through the practice easily and quickly.

In short:
1. We will drink salt water and do 5 very simple exercises. Exercise will push water from the stomach into the intestines. After 4–5 glasses of salt water — you will feel the urge to go to the toilet.

2. Then we continue to drink water, but without exercise.

In general, the practice takes from 4 to 6 liters of salt water, depending on the degree of contamination of the body. The cleansing process itself takes approximately 1–1.5 hours.

3. As a result, pure water will come out of the anus, as pure as the one that you drink. Your stomach and intestines will become clean, like a newborn baby.

4. When clear water begins to flow from you, it is a sign that the practice is finished. The stomach and intestines are clean.

This is followed by quality rest and dry fasting for 4 hours.

5. After restorative fasting, the first thing you can eat is basmati rice with butter. This will create the right new microflora in the stomach.

6. For the next three days, it will be important to follow a certain diet. It is advisable to refrain from dairy products and junk food. It is favorable to eat — cereals, pasta, vegetables, fruits. You can not eat meat, canned food, alcohol, strong and spicy drinks after this practice.

After practicing Shank Prakshalana, your body will become sensitive to foods. Therefore, any both favorable and harmful properties of food will be instantly absorbed by the blood.

Thus, with a conscious attitude, you can heal yourself and reach a new level of your yoga practice.
