Positive vs. Negative Goals

Through a series of unfortunate events that I do not feel comfortable sharing publicly, I’ve come to learn a very important life lesson.

Negative goals produce negative results.

This sounds ultimately very obvious and simple, but has somehow eluded me in a very profound way for the past 26 years of my life.

It’s one of those lessons that sort of abruptly slaps you in the face when you didn’t think you were even in the vicinity of a potential slap. It’s the kind of thing that is so obvious you end up looking past it the whole time. Why must we always ignore the simplest truths?

So, with that formula above, one can only conclude that if Negative goals produce Negative results, then Positive goals must produce Positive results.

This realization hit me like a ton of bricks today as I sat in the same chair at the same desk that I sit in every day.

I thought, “Hmm, what if I channeled all of my restless and anxious energy into more positive goals? Wouldn’t that yield more positive results?”

May as well give it a try.
