Salad making to me is like art, always end up with something new in terms of taste and presentation. Some recurring questions I get from my friends is; What is that unique taste I got when I ate your so & so salad? Are you allowed to mix ingredient X with ingredient Y?

My answer to them is salad making has no set rules, and not strict recipe to follow to the T. I am by no means a chef or an expert cook, but I have been making and eating salads long enough to have a framework in place so I can assemble most healthy ingredients to enhance the taste and not feel bored when consuming them. So here is my mixology for 5 major salad components:

Chickpea Salad aka Greek Salad

Boiled chickpeas | Diced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, capsicum| lettuce,🔘 finely chopped basil | Diced feta cheese| Lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper

Mexican bean Salad

Boiled kidney beans, cannelloni beans, boiled sweet corn, chicken | finely diced cucumbers, onions, roma tomatoes, capsicum, 🔘 gherkins | baby spinach, 🔘 finely chopped coriander, parsley | grated cheddar cheese | Lemon juice, olive oil or canola oil, salt, cayenne pepper, jalapeños

Caesar Salad

Boiled eggs,chicken, croutons, bacon| 🔘 Butter sauteed asparagus, 🔘 broccoli, 🔘 boiled edamame beans, blanched or sauteed green peas| romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce | parmesan cheese, grated garlic | balsamiq vinegar, olive oil, dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, 🔘 mayonnaise

Watermelon Feta Salad

⭕ Prosciutto| Diced watermelon, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes| Assortment of lettuce, finely chopped parsley, 🔘 rocket leaves,| Crumbled feta cheese, cashew nuts| Lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper

Tabbouleh Salad

Boiled bulgur wheat (experiment by replacing it with cauliflower rice, quinoa etc) | Finely chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, fresh pomegranate seeds,🔘 finely chopped spring onions | Finely chopped mint, coriander, parsley | Grated parmesan cheese, 🔘 crumbled ricotta| Lemon juice, olive oil or sesame oil, salt, black pepper, 🔘 minced garlic

P.S: I have not discussed about portioning, preparation time or nutrition value of each dish as I do not want to quantify the process and the experience of making a salad.
