God bless America, and every interstate highway
And every interstate barn on the highway
with it painted on the side

Each swath of land and woods
Every screaming child
All the old brick apartments
The apartments that are really tenements
and the voices on the radio

God bless the people worshiping in the city
and the smallest among them
Bless you, for being an angel

God bless the helpers
Hands washed before dinner
God bless Mom and Dad coming home from work
A little fight and later,
Looking at the stars to see yourself under them
Dreaming in your bedroom
