Bacon Club

The bacon club

has turkey in tender

folds

and a hint of

mashed avocado

green

like the ambergris

of some rare wood sprite

Between toasted wheat bread

—sliced—

and cupped by

a voluptuous frond of butter lettuce

I almost forgot

the bacon

lapping over the above ingredients:

its flavor contrasts — griddled

fat against mellow acidity—

nicely with the tomato slice

that just fell out and into

my soup
