I hear you my brother and feel your pain. While I don’t disagree with what our friend from Google, who has said about interviewers not having time to spend 2 hours reading someone’s blog.
I do still think once the candidate is on the interview (phone screen or on-site) a smart interviewer can figure it out whether the candidate is really smart and knows coding or not without necessarily asking college fed algorithms especially when you are interviewing for front end development roles. Also I think a candidate’s enthusiasm about the role is as much important as his/her knowledge.
I think the problem with Google and other companies is that they have more eggs than they can accommodate and hence they don’t care about people.
I mean when Larry Page and Sergey Brien started Google, they probably did not know everything or remember everything by heart either.
The problem with interviewers is that they might be smarter as they have been doing that same shit for a long period of time. But honestly they are not really wiser or matured and hence the dilemma in the industry.
Well carry on the good work on Github and I am sure someday it will pay off!!
