“Self-Care is a Divine Responsibility”

Being yourself around others soon begins to be a problem. You feel discouraged and out of place. Losing or gaining lots of weight starts to become a situation. You do not sleep well and always have a negative mindset towards everything. Giving yourself boundaries to earn respect from others is now too late according to society.

WRONG! IT STOPS HERE!

What is Self Care you ask?

It is the way that you protect or maintain yourself in a stabilized, and safe manner. By doing so your health has now improved, boundaries are set and followed, and gain a positive state of mind.

🌞 Health: A healthy body and a great mindset both fall into your health. You create self-comfort and have a healthy heart. Many times we do not think about the damages that we do to our self when we are blind to the situation. Diseases increase, and stress swallows you entirely.

Statistically Speaking

Some people are failing at taking care of their responsibility which is okay because it is now an eye-opening experience for them and allows them to pick their selves back up. However, not all people are influential. According to the National Institution of Health

“ Time spent on health-related self-care is disproportionately distributed across the population, with a larger amount of time reported by those in poor health…”

National Institution of Health also stressed the fact that our physician should have more connections with us to know how we are doing mentally.

“ …clinicians need to talk to patients about how much time they are already spending on self-care.”

We cannot live a positive life with a negative mindset. Your attitude determines your direction with life in the future.

Mini Activities

🌹 Diary Entries: maybe include a list of things that you are grateful for to remind yourself that this is what motivated you.

🌹 Sticky Notes: Every night before you go to bed on a sticky note write a note to yourself about something you love about yourself or a reminder of a compliment that someone told you today. Just something positive to wake up on a good note every morning.

🌹 Group Circle: In a group of 3 or more get in a circle and pass or throw the ball to someone. The person with the ball will stay quiet while the rest of the group shouts out something they like about them. This activity gains self confidence knowing that your insecurities maybe something that someone else appreciates about you.

You are your only team and support system. Life is what you make it! Don’t let society take the wheel of your life. There is no right or wrong way of doing things, no one is perfect, and EVERY one makes mistakes. But remember that when it is a mistake, this means that you learn from it, its a set back for a major comeback. If you ever feel like your slowly falling into low self-esteem, seek a psychologist or a mental health counselor. You are never alone!
