Lots of people asked this question so answered it in the follow up that I posted earlier today (it is now linked at the bottom of the article above as well).
From my perspective, he can’t warg into the Mad King because the Mad King is dead (and in the past). One of my points in both articles is that you can’t warg someone unless they live now (you can change the past theoretically if you warg them in present while visiting them in the past).
I am familiar with that vein of time travel theories, and have written about time travel a lot over the last few years myself (I did recaps of the Flash and several other shows that have dealt with time paradoxes). The problem with this idea is not that it would not work as much as that Bran does not time-travel (see either article or both).
Still, if I am wrong, you could certainly be right. Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful comment!
