Gender as an Economic Form of Oppression Part II

The patriarchy is a bitch.

Women earn less than men globally but everything costs more for women. Haircuts, clothes, razors, deodorant, and add to it heels, makeup, facial care, credit to try and afford it, how much the cost of being a woman and working a second unpaid shift on top of it capitalizes. Not only are women paid less for the same work, they do hours more of housework, and everything in order to perform their gender is that much more costly. Women are ripped off!

Also, lots of guys like to act like men buying women drinks exemplifies the entitlement of women today, which is “the problem.” Women’s entitlement. Let’s be honest here for a second. Why do men buy women drinks? Because they want to get women so sloshed there is no way in hell they can consent to sex.

On top of it, some people think bars are actually brothels, and the only reason anyone ever goes to a bar is to get laid. Maybe in rape culture, but actually sometimes some of us might just need a happy hour after a hard day. Fuck it everyone needs to kick back and have a drink sometimes. It is not a sex thing, except maybe for rapists looking to roofie a victim, but again here we have prejudice and economics that collude to justify the exploitation and abuse of women.
