On the Degradation of Sexuality

I have a hypothesis based in the content of empirical evidence that sexuality is degraded by many Western ideologies, religious institutions, and language games.

Intro: what happens if culture is created by men, for the interests of men, and buttressed by the laws of men? It will disproportionately serve their desires, and create the world in the way that they want, because they can spend money to make it how they want, and that is what they do and have always done.

Women represent 40% of the world’s labor force but hold just 1% of the world’s wealth.

1. As a woman, I have ascertained that women in every culture claim that women of other ethnic traditions are more sexually promiscuous, so that their men will have less respect for their competition, a fact which puts all women in constant danger of being degraded, and raped.
2. The church profits off of its corruption of sexuality: this is of course a most essential form of corruption itself because it is monetized and profitable.
3. Rape culture is enabled by thought which forbids premarital sex: it is always fault on the woman because she is considered a whore. Thanks church!
4. The pimp/whore gender binary that is currently the spiritual fulcrum of all the arts as it stands only serves to encourage misogyny and rape culture.
5. That is, this explicit gender division does not stand to reason nor common sense: how could “pimps” possibly be morally superior to “whores” if they pimp and whore, as they claim to?
6. This historical differentiation between men as the active agents and women as the passive agents always puts women in a negative space of desire, in which they must always say an ambiguous “No.” On the whole therefore, the fact that within the dominant discourse women are not allowed to be active sexual agents means that for all intents and purposes, within the dominant culture, the only roles available to women are degrading ones.
7. A few things. If women don’t have the ability to say no and really mean it, and that is the main defense of all rape culture apologists, then that means all women are endangered by this, which is what we call a rape culture, a culture in which men are entitled to sex to women without their consent, and also are convinced they can get away with it.
8. That’s not just unjust, it’s perverse! In the thought of one psychoanalyst, completely selfish sexual desire that does not take into account the desire of the other is an obvious form of perversity.
9. Sexual attractiveness is conflated with active prostitution, a fact which men exploit to justify their sense of entitlement to sex — by discrediting women through appeals to attacks on their character.
10. It is just so easy for men to exploit, degrade, and destroy women, that the language games of Western culture are built in this tradition.
11. Certain populations, due to the violent discrimination that exists with respect to race, class, gender, ableism, and sexual differentiation, are disproportionately abused and sexually degraded because the enforcement of class determinism means that underprivileged persons are often conflated with sex workers, because it is these vulnerable populations that are so often forced into sexual slavery — in this sense the discrimination they face is no coincidence, it is a hard reality based in several different forms of discrimination.
12. Therefore, the existence of sexual slavery even in Western countries is another glaring example of the degradation of sexuality, as well as further proof of the fact that more privileged populations take out their violence on underprivileged populations.
13. Women are constantly discounted for either being too sexy or not sexy enough, there is no rhyme or reason to the constant judgement and scrutiny they face on account of their appearance and sexuality.
14. For Halloween once I was a French Maid and another time I was Sexy Gandalf, and the culture is such that anyone can destroy a woman’s reputation at any time simply by publishing some evidence she is sexually attractive or sexually active (it was a Halloween costume, get with the times)!
15. What?! Have some respect for sexuality, for it may well be the most pure and powerful spiritual-philosophical force that exists in the world, when not perverted by the church, egoism, rape culture, economic inequality, radical discrimination, and a whole host of other evils.
