It was interesting reading this since I was a software development intern for Meddy and helped them build and release some of the features they had on their site.

I can speak from experience, being a software developer in a startup is more gratifying technically than being in a “tech” company here in Qatar. Simply because you can see the challenges more clearly, and moreover you have a voice in how to solve them. In a larger company that requires software engineers you are required to satisfy a spec rather than coming up with a spec, then implementing and testing it using real market data.

I definitely encourage anyone to work in software development for a startup if they’re looking to learn!
