Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, commonly known as Ronaldo, is a retired Brazilian professional footballer who is considered as one of the greatest strikers of all time. He was born on September 18, 1976, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Ronaldo began his professional career at the age of 16 with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in Brazil. He quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in the country and was signed by PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands in 1994. He helped PSV win the Eredivisie title in his first season, scoring 30 goals in 33 appearances.

In 1996, Ronaldo joined Barcelona and continued his impressive form, scoring 47 goals in 49 appearances in his only season at the club. He then moved to Italy to play for Inter Milan, where he won the Serie A title in 1998.

Ronaldo’s most successful spell came with Real Madrid, where he played from 2002 to 2007. He formed a formidable partnership with fellow Brazilian star Zinedine Zidane and helped Real Madrid win two La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League in 2002. Ronaldo scored both goals in the final against Bayer Leverkusen, including a stunning individual effort that is widely considered as one of the greatest goals in the history of the competition.

Ronaldo also had a successful international career with the Brazilian national team, winning the FIFA World Cup twice, in 1994 and 2002. He scored eight goals in the 2002 tournament and was named the Player of the Tournament.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo was known for his explosive pace, dribbling ability, and clinical finishing. He scored a total of 414 goals in his career, including 62 goals in 98 appearances for the Brazilian national team.

Off the pitch, Ronaldo has been involved in various charitable activities and has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2001. He also founded the Ronaldo Foundation, which aims to help underprivileged children in Brazil.
