FoundersDoor is a six week pre-accelerator for early stage tech founders from underrepresented backgrounds in London. The programme is delivered by YSYS in partnership with One Tech as part of the Mayor of London’s Digital Talent initiative.

Uneco

Uneco are building an online marketplace for second-hand uniforms which aims to promote sustainability and affordability for millions of parents. The online peer-to-peer platform creates a social solution for low-income families unable to afford expensive uniforms and an environmental solution, reducing the amount of clothes being sent to landfill.

The team consists of Karen Bandt who is a Consumer Insight Analyst with a background in research and customer centric data analysis. Karen also is a digital marketing professional within a social mobility initiative for young people.

Alongside Karen, Maria Slobodina is a Campus Director and Creative Designer within the student social enterprise and startup ecosystem, whilst studying towards an MSc in Entrepreneurship at UCL.

Selectaire

Selectaire is providing black women across the UK and Europe with quick, quality, branded wigs and hair styling products all in one store, alongside a free directory for customers to find hairdressers within their budget and proximity. The idea came about from the frustration of sourcing wigs from Ali Express and having long waiting times and inconsistent quality products.

The team consists of Jessica Okafor and Doyin Oladapo, students of law and accounting, respectively, from Royal Holloway.

Legal Loft

Legal loft provides affordable, appropriate legal information to start ups and media companies. It aims to tackle the cost barrier to legal advice by increasing accessibility to softer legal guidance.

The team consists of Lauren Campbell, who is a legal apprentice currently working towards her CILEx Diploma in Law & Practice; and Kamran Ranshi, a project business analyst and consultant within the information technology and services industry.

Bridge

Bridge is a social enterprise that helps students develop a wider social understanding of their local and global community through an interactive augmented reality app. They map up to date, first hand photography of communities around the globe, creating a world wide database of imagery describing the world we live in today.

The team consists of founder, Elle Dodds, an Artist specialising in Photography and Moving Image.

Mel Tranfield juggles multiple projects as a Technology Journalist, YouTube Content Creator, Digital Degree Apprentice and a participant of the Future VC programme.
