How do I apply for Turkey e-Visa for my family or group of friends?

You are perfectly fine to apply for your family or group of friends as long as everyone traveling in your group is traveling on the same type of passport.

If, for example, you’re applying for your family and everyone is a US citizen except grandpa who’s still shaking a passport from the old country, you’ll need to create a separate application for Gramps. But don’t worry, you can still receive it on the same email as other apps, keeping everything neat and tidy.

To create an application with multiple entries, you need to access the Turkey e-Visa portal. Once there, click on apply, and in the next window, enter the nationality of the passports your family/group of friends will be traveling with, as well as the passport type and security code.

On the next page, you will have the option to enter your personal information. Fill in all your details, and when you’re done, click “Add New Person” instead of secure and continue.

You will now be able to add the contact details of the family member or friend you will be traveling with. You will be able to add new travelers until your group size reaches 10 people.

You will see that each new traveler creates a new tab containing their passport number. We advise you to have a sheet nearby that has each passport number next to your family member’s name — just to make everything a bit more convenient.

We also advise you to double and triple check all the information you provide, as a small mistake can lead to a faulty e-Visa and you will probably only notice it after the e-Visa is issued or when you try to apply to walk in Turkey.

Once you have added all your family members and you are absolutely sure that their details are correct, you can click on the “Save and continue” button.

You will now receive an email that looks like this:

When you click “Approve”, you will be taken to a platform where you will see the total amount you need to pay, as well as various payment methods.

If your payment is successful, you will receive an email with all your family’s Turkish e-Visas. If you are unable to complete your payment or receive a payment error, we suggest you check that traveler’s account to find out how they resolved the Turkish e-Visa payment issue.

FAQs

Is there a Visa on Arrival option available instead of a Turkey e-Visa?

Technically yes. However, we will not advise travelers to use it as an itinerary to Turkey. The reason for this is that airline and airport staffs are not aware of this option, so you might experience difficulty boarding your flight in the first place.

If you manage to board your flight, you will need to pay $80 in cash ($30 more than the online application) once in Turkey — the authorities will not accept any other currency, so make sure you have it on hand. The authorities will then complete an online e-Visa application for you and grant you your visa. Essentially, you’re only paying someone $30 more to do the request for you.

What are the reasons (motivation) that can be used for a Turkish e-Visa?

You can only apply for a Turkey e-Visa if your motivation or reason for traveling to Turkey is trade or tourism. Any other reason to travel to Turkey will require a visa issued and you should consult your nearest Turkish Consulate or Embassy.

The price of the Turkey e-Visa depends on the nationality applying for the e-Visa. For example, US citizens will have to pay $50 per visa application while Chinese citizens will have to pay $60.
