I totally agree with your points. I had some nightmares with Meteor, too. I am just a junior developer. I came from Ruby on Rails. While seeking help on hybrid help, I tried Meteor. Yet, went through some nightmares. Especially when you tried to run the app, it takes too long, which is not efficient at all. After a month with Meteor, I explored Node.js and Express, then I use Ionic to build the hybrid app. It’s great. If we are just building a hybrid app, I really don’t see the reason to use Meteor.
