Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Beef Stroganoff — Yummy Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 500g beef of your choice (such as filet mignon, sirloin, or rump steak), thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200g fresh mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Season the beef slices with salt and pepper to taste.

2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned beef and fry until golden brown on the outside. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until they are soft and lightly golden.

4. If using fresh mushrooms, add them to the skillet and sauté until they are soft and golden.

5. Add the tomato paste to the skillet and cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.

6. Return the beef to the skillet and mix well with the other ingredients.

7. If using brandy, add it to the skillet and carefully flambe (tilt the skillet and ignite the brandy with a match).

8. Add the tomato sauce to the skillet and mix well. Let it cook for a few minutes until the beef is fully cooked and the sauce has reduced slightly.

9. Turn off the heat and add the heavy cream to the skillet, stirring gently until fully incorporated.

10. Transfer the beef stroganoff to a serving dish and sprinkle with chopped parsley, if desired.

11. Serve the beef stroganoff hot, accompanied by white rice, potato chips, or mashed potatoes.

12. Enjoy this classic and comforting dish!
