Got a few responses to this and I should clarify a few things:

  1. We aren’t changing how we already operate, Absurdist will continue to feature the profound and the pointless.
  2. I speak for everyone involved when I say that we take a lot of pride in publishing new writers. As Joseph Winkler says, we’re “a close community of voices, criticizing, challenging, prodding and offering support for counter-narratives, experimental lit and essays, among other such goodness.”
  3. BUT we still haven’t solved our hardest problem, which is finding a way to support new voices in a way that lends to the sustainability of this publication and it’s contributors.

We’re stuck on point 3 right now and that requires us to be imaginative and focused. That’s all really.
