Recently my friend gave me several e-books. When I got home, I decided to at least start reading 1 e-book. Eventually I got into the book titled 17 Anti Procrastination Hacks by Dominic Mann. It is only around 50 pages.

So far, that book is highly actionable. There are loads of advices inside that book. I am going to share few about it today.

1. Next Action

This is how we usually think about how painful and boring the activity we want to put off. We will imagine all the process and amplify in our mind how negative it is in general. This book told us on to intelligently “dumb down,” which is not to think the whole steps of doing that activity. We only need to do the next step of completing that activity.

2. Two Minute Rule.

Basically, the rule said, if something can be done less than 2 minutes, do it immediately. Example: You want to eat healthy. You got fruits in the refrigerator. Eat it immediately. After that, you will want to build your progress starting from there if you do it consistently.

It does not have to be always 2 minutes. But 2 minutes is a good measure for us, to act on urgent things in the moment. Because the more we delay, the more suffering we put for ourselves in advance. Japan also has a similar rule to this called the 1-minute rule.

There you have it. I trust that you can apply those 2 points right away after reading this post. Have a good day, God bless.
