The deity Ōkuninushi, married to the princess Tagiri-hime from the Munakata, bore a child named Ajisukitakahikone no kami, also known as the present-day Okuninushi. Ōkuninushi, married to the princess Kamuyatate-hime, bore a child named Kotoshiro-nushi. Additionally, the child of the deity Takamimusuhi no kami, married to the deity Toritri, is Torinari no kami. Torinari no kami, married to Hinateri-nuka-da-bichiwo-iko-chini no kami, bore Kunioshitomi no kami. Kunioshitomi no kami, married to Ashinadaka no kami, also known as Yagahae-hime, bore Tsuramikano-takesahayajinumi no kami. Tsuramikano-takesahayajinumi no kami, married to the princess Sakitama-hime of Ameno-mikabushi no kami, bore the deity Mikanushi-hiko. Mikanushi-hiko, married to Hinara-shihime of the deity Okami, bore Tahirikishimamimi no kami. Tahirikishimamimi no kami, married to Ikutama-sakitama-hime of Hihiragi’s Sonohana-mazumi no kami, bore Mironami no kami. Mironami no kami, married to Aonumanuo-oshi-hime of Shikiyamanushi no kami, bore Nunooshitomitotri-narumi no kami. Nunooshitomitotri-narumi no kami, married to Wakahirume no kami, bore Ameno-hibarao-hoshinadomi no kami. Ameno-hibarao-hoshinadomi no kami, married to Tohotsu-machine no kami of Ameno-sagiri no kami, bore Tohotsuyamazaki-tarashi no kami. These deities, from the Munakata no kami to Tohotsuyamazaki-tarashi no kami, are referred to as the seventeen generations of gods.
