AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals Certification — All about passing the entry level exam of Azure
I recently passed my AZ-900 exam in the month of June. For those who know, this is the most famous entry exam for anyone who wants to enter into the world of Azure. While the exam is based on easy level still it has a lot of deep topics too and the curriculum expands over many services of Azure. So, I have tried to focus this article on passing the exam and explaining you everything about it.
What is the exam?
Microsoft explains the exam very simply in this way,
As a candidate for this exam, you’re a technology professional who wants to demonstrate foundational knowledge of cloud concepts in general and Microsoft Azure in particular. This exam is a common starting point in a journey towards a career in Azure.
So basically, Microsoft wants you to know about the basics of compute, networking, and storage services in the Azure. During the learning journey of the exam, you basically read more about the services and how they function. You even might need to learn a bit about demo working of each service as the exam sometimes expect to select options from the Azure portal.
Details about the exam:
· The exam materials are available on Microsoft Learn website for you to learn about recent curriculum of AZ-900 (because Microsoft keeps changing the pattern of their exams).
· The exam can be scheduled from Pearson VUE and for students or instructors it can be registered from Certiport portal.
· Microsoft also provides a free practice test on their Microsoft Learn website.
· The training materials contains 3 learning paths for you to learn all about Azure in basics.
· The cost of the exam is 99$ or 3696 rupees with taxes added to this amount later during the checkout page (if you a working professional then some companies provide 100% discount coupons as they have partnered with Microsoft, do check with your organization before applying for the exam).
· Pearson VUE allows us to take exam either from their test centers or if not possible then you can also attend the exam online from your home. They also provide assistance in exam for visually impaired or handicapped people.
· You can expect a total of 36–40 questions in the exam with 45 minutes of time frame.

At starting I was worried about the exam as this was my first Microsoft exam and I always felt that I was unprepared to attend it. But I kept my confidence high and passed the exam. The questions were easy to moderate and time to complete the exam was sufficient. I would suggest you all to take your time and learn about Azure since this exam will not just provide you certificate but also start your journey in Azure cloud computing and help you to attend other associate and expert level certifications too.
