Did you ever try soba noodle?

This is soba noodle. It is made from buckwheat. It served separated, noodle and soup for dipping. When you have this, you pick up some noodles with chopsticks and dip it in the soup. do not release the noodle in the soup, hold it till you eat it. When you have the edge of it in your mouth, SLURP IT!!!!! MAKE NOISE!! It is not rude at all in Japan. Making sound when you eat is seen as a good manner, which means you like it and enjoy it.

You are better to use chopsticks if you can. But it requires you to slurp when you use them. Don’t forget to put wasabi and green onion in the soup.

The different kinds of soba noodle I tried before.

And Tempra. Prawn, squash, eggplant and so on. You have two options to eat tempura, one is with dipping sauce (not same one with soba sauce), another is with salt. Both have good combination with tempura.

After you finish soba, you can still enjoy soba soup with “soba yu”. “Yu” means hot water, but this one is not just water. It is hot water that boiled soba noodle. You can pour hot water from the teapot into your soup cup. the portion of it depends on your preference. You can find your best portion by yourself.

This is what soba noodle is in Japan. Nagano prefecture is one of the most popular prefectures of soba.

When you visit Japan, you should try some soba noodle!
