and I have put together the next round of #BigLittleTips. Enjoy and use them!

#23- Embed Public/Private Tableau report to Notion
Use the report’s Embed code. Generate URL link here: https://apption.co
Paste this URL link into your Notion page’s /embed block.

#24 — Show the Active Filter Setting (UX)
If you hide the filter panel make sure you indicate the selected record(s) on the dashboard. You can use breadcrumbs or you can create a nice ‘tree’ with Mathematical Operators.

#25 — Horizontal Scrolling
The horizontal scrolling can be a good option for your small multiples. It takes up limited space, focuses on the top X modalities, and works very well on mobile.

#26 — Design Custom Axis
Striving for a more visually appealing design than Tableau’s default and Facing limitations with axis space to display each date point? Define the initial/final points using FISRT()/LAST() and format them in a separate sheet.

Superstore Design

#27 — Embedded Alert
There are multiple use cases to embed dashboards into dashboards. One is to create an alerting widget displayed on one or several dashboards, configured independently, and sent separately when the alert notifies you via email or slack.

#28 — Rotate Axis Title
Rotate the axis title of your min(0) placeholder by hiding the regular axis title in the Edit Axis Menu and setting a custom number format for your min(0) 0 value, like “ Target “

#29 — Show/Hide Share of Total
Leverage interactions & animations to conditionally display a share of total when filtering on a category. Dual axis with calc. field:
IF COUNTD([category])>1 THEN -1 ELSE SUM([metric])/SUM({FIXED date:SUM[metric])}) END

#30 — Hierarchical Parameter Selection
Create a string/integer parameter that will contain your hierarchy. Set the top-level categories to “None” but displayed with the correct alias, and set the bottom-level categories to be displayed with a “ — -” prefix or use Unicode.

Which tip is your favorite?
