#31 — Automatic Shape Assignment
① Name your images accurately, aligning them with your categories.
② Sort your data alphabetically for Tableau’s automatic assignment.

#32 — Synchronized Scrolling
Embed a dashboard into another dashboard for synchronized scrolling. Include all the required sheets in the embedded dashboard and use a webpage component on the main dashboard to display it. No map layers or fancy calc!

#33 — Sorting/Reordering Filter Values
① Make sure the data to be sorted is not filtered in the workbook.
② Select Default Properties > Sort.
③ Adjust the sort order.

① Display the view you want to be the landing page.
② Select your profile icon.
③ Set the start page

#35 — Box Dialog in Caption
Design Info/Warning/Alert box dialogs right into your worksheet captions. Use emoji ⚠️ and format your caption background and border for a visually engaging look!

#36 — Customize the Totals to show different values from the main view
Use SIZE() function to differentiate the table rows, then define what you want to display in the main part and totals. Set the right number formats in the Format Panel.

Another technique: Isolate the Grand Total using MIN(Dimension)=Max(Dimension)

#37 — Display Textured Bar
① Create a bar chart
② Add MIN(1.0) to X axis, fix the width of the bars and align to the right
③ Add Map>Background Image with condition
④ Set the opacity of the chart color
⑤ Add Reference Band (Min Sales — Max Sales*1.1)

#38 — Auto collapsible Custom Parameter/Set Filter Panel
① Create Open button with Dynamic Zone Visibility
② Add the reverse Close logic to the Parameter/Set Filter sheet and activate the Control Visibility function on the dashboard.

#39 — Create or Edit your Calculations directly from the dashboard
Analysis > Create Calculated Field…
Analysis > Edit Calculated Field

#40 — Change Total’s color
Click on the arrow beside your field on the color marks card. The field must be an Attribute or Discrete AGG e.g.: SIGN(value) Select Total using > Hide. Grand total being aliased as “#Missing
