I said Bernie supporters were more impacted by voter suppression. I think it’s pretty obvious that Bernie supporters were targeted, especially when you have 126,000 voters in Brooklyn, Bernie’s hometown, mysteriously purged from voter rolls. Also, I never mentioned race, although of course African-Americans have had their votes suppressed for decades. Bernie, believe it or not, has a lot of support from African-Americans despite Hillary supporters’ claim that the community is a “firewall.”
Hillary spoke once about voter suppression in this primary cycle only very recently. Hillary, as usual, came very late to the party when it came to saying anything about it. One can logically assume it is because she — as well as the DNC — both are quite content with it. The danger for the Dems, however, is that the general election is totally open, meaning Independents will be able to vote. There won’t be the voting restrictions in November like there has been now.
